- Quotation within two hours – Price, lead time, customs tariff number and Incoterm. Up to two business days for discontinued types because we check several sources.
- Order and payment – New customers by prepayment, regular customers on invoice. Order confirmation with every line item.
- Goods receipt and dispatch – Inspection in the Berlin warehouse, dispatch the next business day. Export declaration the next day in-house.

Frequently asked questions
Do I pay customs duty on German automation parts imported into Canada?
No. For the tariff headings relevant to industrial automation components (8536, 8537, 8541, most of 9031 and 8471) the Canadian MFN rate is already Free, and the CETA (CEUT) rate is also Free. You pay 5 % GST on the value for duty, plus your broker's clearance fee. Source: CBSA Customs Tariff 2026, Chapter 85.
Who pays the GST and how do I get it back?
Under our standard DAP terms, the importer of record, your company or your customs broker on your behalf, pays the 5 % GST at import. GST-registered businesses claim it back as an input tax credit on their next return. The provincial portion of HST, QST or PST is not collected by the courier on commercial imports.
Are the parts CSA or cUL approved?
Approval is per product, not per supplier. Siemens, Pepperl+Fuchs, Festo, WAGO, Phoenix Contact, SICK, ABB and Schneider use the same part numbers worldwide, and most catalogue items carry cULus or cCSAus marks on the nameplate. We confirm the approvals before shipping on request; CE alone is not accepted by ESA, Technical Safety BC or Alberta inspectors. For hazardous-area (Ex) products, ATEX and Class/Division approvals differ, so tell us your installation and we quote the correct variant.
How long does delivery take and what does shipping cost?
Express (DHL Express, FedEx, UPS) is 2–4 business days door to door to Toronto and Montréal, 3–4 to Calgary and Vancouver, plus 0–1 day for customs. Indicative express cost from Berlin before fuel surcharge: 2 kg 80–110 EUR, 5 kg 100–140 EUR, 10 kg 145–200 EUR, 20 kg 250–360 EUR. Economy air (5–8 days) is available for larger, non-urgent orders. Exact shipping is shown on every quote.
What is CARM and do I need it?
CARM is the CBSA system in which every commercial importer needs its own account and financial security. If your company already imports anything commercially, you have it. If not, your customs broker or the courier can guide you; shipments up to CAD 3,300 clear under the simplified courier low-value process.
What about warranty and returns?
ZWOD is your seller and your warranty contact: 12 months statutory warranty on new goods. Wrong deliveries and transport damage are replaced by express at our cost. Unopened stock items can be returned within 14 days by prior arrangement; return freight to Berlin is at the buyer's expense.
